Canteen and

Consumer Operations

San Jose Workers' MPC has its own canteen as one of its main operations.

As part of its mission to provide satisfactory services to more entities, the cooperative is willing to serve as canteen concessionaire to public or private schools and private companies as well.

Believing in the value of food safety and nourishing Filipinos with healthy food

options, SJWMPC is growing its own protein source. It also partnered with Batangas

Organic and Natural Farming Agricultural Cooperative for the supply of organic and

natural grown vegetables and fruits. Indeed, the health and well-being of its members is

its most precious asset.

Reseller's

Program

Guided by its mission to promote entrepreneurship, SJWMPC is partnering with the Archdiocesan Shrine and Parish of St. Joseph the Patriarch through the Parish Social Action Commission to assist marginalized families who intend to sell Cooperative

products and services. Thirty-three (33) resellers are to be piloted in this program and will be provided with the technology and initial capital converted to inventory items.

Store

Community

Is our way of reaching out to community members.

A community where there is a membership base of 200+ individuals are provided with a community store where they could source their necessities. Also, SJW Community Store dispenses fresh agricultural products like meat, fruits, and vegetables. Sooner, the community stores will be enhanced as a one-stop-shop where all of the products and services offered by SJWMPC will be made available to its members in some strategic locations.

Integrated Cold Storage

and Meat Cutting Facility

Department of Agriculture-National Meat Inspection Service (DA-NMIS) inked a

Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with San Jose Workers’ Multi-Purpose Cooperative

(SJWMPC) for the construction of a cold storage warehouse with meat cutting facility worth P50 million under the Bayanihan to Recover as One Act 2 stimulus package, held

in Brgy. Vasra, Quezon City on November 24, 2020.

The MOA signing between DA-NMIS Executive Director Dr. Reildrin G. Morales and

SJWMPC General Manager Mr. Emmanuel A. Munda was witnessed by DA Region IV-

CALABARZON Regional Director Arnel V. de Mesa and Assistant Regional Director for

Research and Regulations and Livestock Program Coordinator Ms. Vilma M.

Dimaculangan, along with DA-NMIS IV-A Regional Technical Director Dr. Fernando N.

Lontoc.

The Department of Agriculture is expecting this collaborative project between DA-NMIS

and SJWMPC to significantly increase the sustainability of the meat industry in

Batangas and the rest of CALABARZON. This is another step forward for

Chef Jose is a project in consortium with BEPCO and BONFAC  similarly located in San Jose. The consortium aims to promote and consolidate tourism, livelihood, agricultural growth, and cooperativism among cooperatives and entrepreneurs. Established last October 2017, it caters to various Batangueno delicacies being sold within and outside the province.

Chef Jose – A vision, a brand and a culture

Chef Jose, being one of the pioneer consortium of Philippine cooperativism, is best defined as a consortium with a vision, a brand, and a culture.

Chef Jose is a vision that aspires to be a leading model of “bayanihan” to the Philippine society. This was proven more compelling during this period of great uncertainties. There could be no better time for genuine unity than it is today.

Chef Jose is a brand of locally-sourced products initially aimed as a Pasalubong Center. Our encounter with the brand made us realize that engrained in each product are stories of sacrifices and hard work of farmers, farm-workers, employees, cooperatives, manufacturers and social entrepreneurs.

Dubbed as back-liners, we are working round the clock to help nourish Filipinos. I know many of you could identify yourselves as one of us and if not, could now fully appreciate the important role we play.

Chef Jose is a culture representing the unique traits of Batanguenos – “masipag, magiting, magaling”. It promotes to a certain degree an essential connection and respect to our roots. In that sense, we give more importance to core values we raised in Chef Jose in our day-to-day dealings.

In the end, we at Chef Jose aspire to be the leading brand, cultivating a culture of excellence and mutual success with our partners and the society at large.
